DAYNA T. RICHARDSON
GET TO know me

Dayna T. Richardson is an international performer who brings passion, power, and soul to every performance. Originally from Texas, her passion for singing was ignited at a young age while performing with the youth choir at her church and learning and growing within her school and community choirs. The desire to perform professionally was further stoked when she was asked to sing Proud Mary for the first time, an unforgettable experience.
Shortly after graduating from Baylor University, her passion as a singer, led her to New York City where she has performed in some of the city’s most iconic venues such as The Shrine in Harlem, Rockwood Music Hall, and Groove down on West 4th. Along with her magnetic personality, Dayna is known for her bigger than life voice and performance style. Her voice has been described as a thrilling mix of Tina Turner’s fire and Whitney Houston’s finesse. One enthusiastic audience member once said, “Her voice is like a punch to the face…but I loved it.” Dayna's dynamic mezzo-soprano range covers a wide range of genres—from gospel, soul, and pop to funk, rock, and musical theater—and draws in audiences from all walks of life.
As a vocalist, Dayna has toured around the world—including Europe, the U.S., and Asia—entertaining audiences on top luxury cruise lines like Disney, Norwegian Cruise Line and Holland America and also in regional theater productions. When she’s not touring, Dayna lends her powerhouse vocals to award-winning wedding and event bands in the Tri-State area, including Atomic Funk Project and The Hook Club. If you’re ever in New York, you can catch her front lining with the funk-rock-soul band Orange Burn. Their recently released second album Til It Stops can be found on all streaming platforms.
